Jeremy trained as a solicitor at City law firm Withers LLP in 2001 and spent five years post-qualification as a litigator specialising in Trust and Succession disputes. Cases ranged from trust litigation for the internationally wealthy, domestic UK probate and will challenges, disputes concerning UK charities and the Court of Protection. In 2007 Jeremy moved to Jersey to take on the role of legal counsel at Standard Bank and over the 7 years there, he was appointed as a director of the Group’s international trust business and subsequently head of the Business Control Unit, a risk and legal function for the international Group. He subsequently joined Minerva, a privately owned trust company in Jersey, and led a complete overhaul of the business enabling its sale in 2018. Since then, Jeremy has become a well-known mediator focusing on family disputes of all types and has assisted a litigation funding business develop new solutions to finance trust and probate claims. He joined the Magentum Group in 2021 and heads up our UK trust team.
Jeremy has a genuine breadth of experience when it comes to private client matters and trusts. He prides himself on his ability to listen carefully and has a strong desire to really understand clients. Jeremy is well-known professionally as a team player and he has a strong network of highly accomplished advisers to build great advisory teams around clients.
Having returned with his wife from Jersey with three children, family life involves ferrying three teenage daughters to and from sporting and social events. When he’s released from chauffeur duties, he’s an endurance sport enthusiast with a taste for ultra-marathons.
