David Bateman

David qualified as a Chartered Tax Adviser in 1997 and joined Magentum as a Director in 2011.

In previous roles David worked for large regional Chartered Accountancy firms based in London and the south east England.  Over his career David has participated in many client tax planning projects which covered both international and domestic private and business client issues. This ranged from acting for business entities importing or exporting their businesses to and from the UK and assisting trust and private clients with UK tax planning for their businesses and private client wealth succession planning, with the use of trusts and Family Investment Companies. 

David has experience in working with high net worth individuals, companies and trusts concerning their planning needs.  He also deals with complex tax enquiries which involved negotiation with HMRC over the settlement of tax assessments and associated penalties which involved trusts and underlying companies.

As well as his client advisory and compliance work, David assists with the operations of the UK business and is a member of the UK management committee and the UK boards of the Magentum Group entities. 

David is married with three children. Away from work David enjoys gardening, cycling, swimming, walking and travelling with his family. Over the years David has assisted with his church parish serving as a parish council committee and currently assists with the streaming of church services for the community and had previously served as a school governor for one of his children’s schools.
